Local Support Leader

Our Local Support Leaders represent the Williams Syndrome Changing Lives Foundation by welcoming new families, providing support and resources and connecting in your local community regarding local medical, educational, developmental and recreational resources including specialists, schools and local social services.

Williams syndrome family gatherings are important to share experiences. Coordinating local events can be a great way to connect and support as well as become voice for Williams Syndrome Changing Lives Foundation and local families to identify areas of need in the Williams syndrome community.

Hosting local fundraisers are a great way to spread awareness in your community regarding Williams syndrome as well as raise funds for the foundation. Funds raised through these collection efforts are used for our Assistance Program. Through our Assistance program, we can provide assistance with:

Financial assistance for medical needs, including costs associated with travel to Williams syndrome specialty clinics throughout the United States, specialized medical equipment, therapy sessions, specialized educational needs, specialized camps (including music and summer camps), assistance for specialized in-home care and ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) services.

Financial assistance for medical needs including costs associated with service and/or companion animals, nursing services, assistive technology devices, prescribed medications, specialized car seats, specialized formula and therapeutic feeling tools.

Medical and developmental resources, such as costs associated with treatment from a Developmental Pediatrician and/or behavioral therapy.

Local Support Leaders are volunteers committed to making a difference in our community.
